The methodology

How I work.

I don't like getting frustrated. You don't either. This is why I use a systematic feedback approach to keep projects on track. Clear stages. Regular check-ins. No surprises.

01

DISCUSS

Phone consultation.

We talk about your business, where strategy has drifted, and what you actually need. If we agree to work together, let's start with a diagnostic to see if we're a fit. An initial project questionnaire will be sent to you.

02

CONTRACT

Sign an SOW.

The Statement of Work details the scope, deliverables, timelines and project terms. There is a 50% upfront payment. Make sure to review your Statement of Work before signing it.

03

BUILD

While I make it as easy as possible for you, you are required to review strategy drafts and provide feedback at key milestones.

For this to go smoothly, I use the 10-50-99 progress process.

10% — Discovery and foundation.
Lots of communication. Competitor research, customer interviews, pattern recognition. Positioning hypotheses drafted.
50% — Strategy has taken shape.
Positioning locked. Narrative and messaging drafted. You review and give feedback so I can refine anything that's off.
99% — System is finalized.
Brand book, wireframes, and execution ready. No more revisions allowed at this point. We're closing the project.
04

APPROVAL

Review your final deliverables.

I'll be sending your complete brand system: positioning, messaging, system design, and execution (depending on your package). Max of 3 free revisions. Most of the time it takes 1 round.

05

CELEBRATE

We did it!

How about some celebration? Virtually or we can go for a coffee if I'm in your city or town. And of course, coffee is on me.

"The customer is not a moron. She's your wife."
— David Ogilvy

I've been building brand systems for 15 years. One principle has stayed constant: the customer is not a moron. She's your wife.

  • No jargon. No corporate speak. No talking down.
  • Position like you're explaining something to someone you respect.
  • Assume intelligence. Earn attention. Don't waste time.

Every positioning statement, every message, every page gets tested against this: would you send this to someone you respect? If not, it's not done.

What every deliverable survives before it ships.

Positioning alignment
Does this reinforce what makes you different?
Clarity
Would a stranger understand this?
Brevity
Is every word necessary?
Consistency
Same voice, same vocabulary, same brand.
Accuracy
Zero typos. Zero broken links. Zero errors.
